An Acceptable Use Policy (AUP) is the contractual basis for every disciplinary, audit, and incident-investigation action you take involving employee IT use. Without a signed AUP, dismissal for misuse is challengeable in most EU labour courts, GDPR enforcement actions can be voided, and your ISO 27001 control A.6.2 evidence is missing.
Our template covers the eight sections that EU labour tribunals consistently uphold. Skipping any one creates an enforceability gap.
EU works councils and DPAs routinely strike down AUPs that say "we monitor everything". The clause must be specific, proportionate, and justify each monitoring category against legitimate interest.
How you deploy the AUP matters as much as the wording. Tribunals look for evidence of awareness, comprehension and consent.
Our template is a DOCX with content blocks for ES/EN/NL/FR jurisdictions, pre-filled monitoring clauses passed by AEPD/CNIL/AP precedent, and a deployment checklist. Used by 60+ SME clients across the EU.
